Sunbury School of Music

We teach children from about 6 years old to VCE level. We work hard to make sure the learning is enjoyable. We adapt to the strengths and weaknesses of each student to make sure they experience success.

What Is The Right Age To Start?

We offer piano, guitar and recorder lessons to younger children. For our littlest piano students we have the Music for Little Mozarts program. Older students are also able to learn Singing, Saxophone, Bass Guitar and Flute. Very young children can start by playing piano or recorder since these do not require significant physical strength. Children in lower primary school are generally able to manage an acoustic guitar, moving to full size or electric guitar by secondary school.

If you are wondering about instruments, read this:

Keyboard, Digital Piano or real Piano? Which should I choose?

Guitars: Acoustic or Electric? Which should I choose?

Please note that we have plenty of experience with children, and in accordance with Victorian legislation, we have Working With Children (WWC) Checks.

Our classes are on weekdays, during the daytime or evening, and on Saturday mornings. So if you are looking for a teacher, please make an online enrolment enquiry or call 0497 273 948 for further information.
