Julie teaches singing, piano and music theory.
Julie started out by learning choir singing, before adding flute, clarinet, saxophone, and piano. By the age of 16, Julie had been awarded a prestigious scholarship for singing lessons from a teacher of the Royal College of Music in London. There she obtained classical vocal training with a strong emphasis on technique and breathing placement.
Julie studied at the London College of Music, where she completed university studies in music and was awarded the title of Graduate of the London College of Music. During her career, Julie has sung and played in a range of Londons venues such as the famous Royal Albert Hall.
Julie is an accredited ANZCA, ABRSM and AMEB teacher for singing, piano, flute, clarinet, saxophone and music theory. Julie also has a current Victorian Working with Children Check (WWC).
Julie will recommend the appropriate exam syllabus for you. They each offer a different combination of classical and modern songs, providing students with a thorough grounding in correct techniques while enjoying music styles that they like.
Lachlan is a talented multi-instrumentalist, being equally at home on piano, guitar, flute, saxophone and bass guitar. Lachlan welcomes both beginners and advanced students, and particlarly strives to adjust the curriculum for each student's musical interests and needs to include appropriate material for learning and fun.
Lachlan has expert knowledge in music theory and the fundamentals of solid instrumental technique, and has great success in preparing students for music exams. He is also experienced in computer music notation software and Musical Instrument Digital Interface - MIDI.
Lachlan started his musical training on piano,
before adding guitar, bass guitar, saxophone and flute, passing grade 7
saxophone less than 2 years after first picking up the instrument!
Lachlan's musical background also includes studies in music at the University of Melbourne and service with an Australian military band.
Lachlan is accredited to enrol students in ANZCA, ABRSM, AMEB and Trinity RockSchool exams.
Catherine teachers piano, keyboard, singing, recorder and flute. Working with children has also been a passion which led Catherine to Primary School teaching in 1988. She graduated from RMIT with a Grad.Dip.Ed.(Music) in 1992. Through opportunities presented at social and church functions, she has worked with young children in preparing and performing solos and in choir groups.
In most recent years, Catherine has been working her way through ABRSM's Singing exams, having completed grade 7 with a High Distinction in 2016. She also teaches children singing, piano and theory lessons. Although some students choose not to pursue music exams, several students have successfully been completing AMEB exams in piano, theory and voice.
Music is a passionate subject which Catherine believes opens up children's learning in many aspects of cognitive development, but also as a way of building the bonds between parent and child.
Jamie teaches guitar, piano, saxophone, clarinet and flute and music theory.
Jamie Wilson teaches guitar, piano, saxophone, clarinet and flute and music theory, with ABRSM and ANZCA music qualifications in piano, guitar, saxophone and music theory up to grade 5. Jamie also has a Certificate III in Music Performance.
Jamie plays acoustic and electric guitars as well as alto, tenor and soprano saxophones. He has a natural inclination to music, and a friendly engaging style easily developing a rapport with his students.
Jamie has teaching experience with students of a range of abilities including beginer levels. Jamie’s students recently achieved great results in their ANZCA music exams.
